TMPE, is and should be in your 4th or 5th tier for the simple fact that, their rates are extremely low. Fill up your inventory with higher paying networks, then once that inventory has been filled direct them to TMPE. I remember serving 60k impressions to them and only made 3 bucks. You do the math on this one...It didn't use to be like this until the start of the new year. TMPE was paying pretty decent CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions) rates which I was seeing anywhere from .02-.25 on banners and leaders. Their skyscrapers pay just about the same amount.
TMPE also serves CPA (Cost Per Action) ads, which if any action is taken can result in big $$$. But as most webmasters know, the average CTR (Click Through Rate) is less than 1%, and to pile that on top of the average action after that low 1% ctr is like finding money on the ground, literally. The CPA ads usually pay a lot more. Some campaigns range into the $$ per CPA, and some are $.
Their popup campaigns range from .5-.75 or even less than that at times. But again this depends on what type of site you have and which category you best fit in. The sites which I ran these on, weren't really what most advertisers would want their site to run on. So these rates could and probably just be based on the site that I had. Or not, because having to talk to many other webmasters after the 06 calendar year, they have had the same complaint about low rates.
They offer a very high referral rate of $125. However the other publisher has to reach $100 first before you get the payout. Also, I think this is the only site that does this. You can refer your own website, but you only get $25, however the same rules apply. You have to reach $100 first.
Their publisher interface is pretty whacko at times. You log in, and you want to see how much you made today, but to no avail. The stat pages don't even freakin' work! This happens at 1am, 2pm; it doesn't really matter! But recently this hasn't been happening but I thought this was worth talking about.
Of all the publisher interface out there, this one is one of the worst. The same problems happen when trying to go to different pages...they don't load. I'm not saying all the time or even a little bit of the time. But just sometimes...When you want to go to different dates, you have to shuffle through by clicking on these arrows. Not a big deal really, but I mean c'mon save us some time!
Besides the low rate, most webmasters will tell you how crappy the e-mail support is. And I must concur with them because, I have e-mailed them multiple times about some payment issues and other crazy things related to my account with them, and you know what? They sent me a 5 paragraph essay on some mumbo jumbo not even related to what I wanted to see or read. That was about 1.5 years ago though. Now they just don't reply at all.
Now that we are talking about bad customer service, I remember when I was first with them, back in 04-05. In the span of 1-4 weeks, I notice that my stats never updated. I thought it was just one of their many stat page glitches. One day when I was strolling through one of my web sites I started to notice a bunch of default ads. I e-mail them about it. Then they responded, saying they didn't know. This was the first time they actually answered my e-mail. Then a week or two went by before I got another e-mail from them. They said that, they went through a site wide audit, weeding out all the "inappropriate" sites. And apparently my site was on there. I told them, "how come it took so long to inform me about that (no wonder my stats weren't updating)." Instead they let me run their advertisers ad on my web site. Then I got kicked out and after a thousand e-mails about how crappy their service was I finally gave up and never gotten paid. Then I cried in my room for being taken advantaged of...life goes on. I was still a teenager at that time too...what an impression they left.

I been using BidClix as a default to google adsense for a while now and have yet to see any real profit. I don't serve to them as many impressions as I would with google, however there is a reason for that. BidClix takes 50% of your cut so that means it's a 50/50 split between you and them. That's not the only reason though. My main reason is because the ads usually aren't relevant.
BidClix uses a betting system where the highest bid gets a spot on your inventory. There is a good and bad to this. While you will always get the highest bid on that spot, you will also get ads which may or may not be relevant to your site content. With most case studies, the more relevant the ad is to the content, the higher the CTR will be. With BidClix, because most ads aren't relevant the CTR can be really low.
BidClix, uses most of the standard ad sizes such as leader board, skyscrapers, and banners. They also have popup unders and popup ads. They pay via paypal, or checks. Other payment options can be arrange with your personal account manager.
One of the great things about Bidclix is the publisher interface. When you log in you come to your homepage that displays your earnings and clicks for today. You can sort all your info base on the Date, Channel, Placement, Property, and Advertiser. Also you can edit your profile and see when you gotten paid.
If you are worried about ads that just don't fit into your inventory Bidclix, has a system where you can review the advertiser and approve or reject them. This gives a lot of power to the publisher. Another very powerful control given to the publisher is the ability to set your own minimum bids. So if you feel that you space is worth $.50 per click then you can charge that.
When you want to add a different ad size, you have to request it. And then wait for it to be approved by your account manager or someone. Once I wait 4 days for an ad placement to be approved, which is a little long in my standards. This might another drawback, but was probably only a rare occurrence.
I only sent them one, yes reading and weep, 1 e-mail since I used them. I forgot what it was about but if my memory serves me well, it was about the ad code. The result was that they e-mailed me back in a few days, which is very good. The response was clear and understandable. So with that experience I have to say that it was good.
